Holiday’s with Akavar 20/50

While this blog is generally reserved for factual information on Akavar, I’d like to branch out and share a recent personal experience.

Like so many others out there, I’ve found that I have far too much candy, chocolate and sweets in the house for my own good. The interesting thing is that over the holiday’s I ate about as much as  usual, but I haven’t seen the weight gain that I did in past years.  It’s now the 8th of January and I don’t feel as sluggish as I anticipated. I’m thoroughly convinced that it’s because I continued to take Akavar throughout the holiday season. My metabolism and energy have been up, and I still look like I’d like to. Keep in mind that I’m not advocating eating irresponsibly…it’s just that Akavar has helped me overcome the typical calorie surplus that accompanies the season.

Here’s to a healthy and fit 2008, best wishes to all!

My doctor has set what I have found to be an impossible goal for me…1,000 calories a day and he expects a weight loss of 40 pounds a month. He gives me HIGH doses of Topamax to help (doesn’t) and when I return with NO RESULTS or LITTLE (2-3 pound lose a month) he gets upset and I’m not doing enough…ups the Topamax and gives me grief. My appointments are becoming harder and harder to go to. At 5′ 10″ and 270 pounds I’m marked as being major obese….something I never thought I would be 10 years ago. My health (nothing to do with my weight but the other way around) limits my ability to move…..Everything out there is a NO NO with all my medications. Light and short walks is a major exercise to this body and heart….and with no hope in sight depression is taking over…..Could Akavar help someone like me?

If you are considered as “obese,” we would recommend following the orders of your doctor, especially if your weight gain is due to a health or genetic disorder.
It sounds like you are having issues with your current doctor, so perhaps you should seek a second opinion or see another health professional. They may be able to provide you with additional alternatives, one that may be more suited for your needs.
